These new canvases, presented under the tiltle "Contrasts", painted during winter 2019 - 2020, and completed during the lock down, were inspired by a sense of wonder: A rainy evening in Uzès when you see the fairy lights, not in the trees but reflected in the puddles, a ramble near Cassis as the setting sun passed below the threatening clouds to set fire to the cliffs across the bay, the clouds at twilight like torn rags over the roofs of the village, or over a shopping centre...
