London, the Thames

This series is about a stay in Greenwich in South East London. The end of the day of our arrival was exceptionally calm. The high rise vuildings of Canary Wharf, (The new financial district), were bathed in golden light, like peaceful giants beyond the riverbank in the shadows. The following day we visited the park and were on the hill next to the Observatory at dusk. The lights of Canary Wharf came up behind the elegant architecture of Christopher Wren and Inigo Jones.

You can take a boat from Greenwich to Tate Modern, which we did on one of those rare days of winter sunshine. The photographs I took from the boat provided a resource for this series.
